New Internet Credibility Application

As many of you know, I am a computer science student and a sort of amateur programmer.  I also happen to be somehwhat obsessive about the credibility of the internet that we all love.  Well, put two and two together and I've begun development of a new internet application aimed at increasing online cred.

However, as I begin to devote hours to this new project I'm left wondering whether anyone will ever actually use it.  In a nutshell, the app is a service that verifies identities of individuals and various information about them; including businesses, websites, ebay sellers, etc.  The app is token based and only the subjects that are the account holders of the various profiles can obtain and provide these tokens thus ensuring to users their authenticity.

So, does this sound like an app that may gain traction in today's internet?  Please, let me know.  Don't be shy!

http://internetcredibility.org/articles … ation.html Brett, this sounds like a good and useful idea and you have my support. The only qualm I might have with such an upstart application is the privacy issues involved in someone utilizing this site would have to provide some sort of credentials in order to use this service, that can be a bit much to ask of someone for a new never heard of application. But I like where you're going with this. It seems like somehting that's overdue on the internet do you care to share more details?
